Plan China
works in six Program Areas: Pucheng County, Chunhua County, Jia County, Yulin County and Xixiang County in Shaanxi Province, and Longde County in Ningxia Autonomous Region.

Plan China’s projects are not limited to the Program Areas. In May 2006 Plan China launched the Child Legal Support and Protection Network to train lawyers in providing children legal protection in Tianjin Municipality and Shaanxi, Hunan, Anhui and Fujiang Province and is investigating expanding this project to more cities/provinces in the future.
In 2006, Plan China launched the Community Technology Learning Centre in Xi’an Shaanxi and Nanjing Municipality to improve social inclusion of new city residents with Microsoft.

Since 2006 Plan China has worked with the World Bank and the State Council Leading Group on Poverty Alleviation and Development to explore a new model of community driven poverty relief and development in Baishui County, Shaanxi Province.

In 2007 Plan China and Nokia launched the Heart to Heart, Hand to Hand Project which will initially be piloted in six impoverished counties across China and will then expand to include a further eighteen counties. By the end of the project, more than 1,200 early childhood care and development centers will have been established throughout China offering care to more than 70,000 children.
