For McLuhan I
Points I've taken from Mcluhan:
"On the telephone, you have no physical body."
"Intruding, without permission....Telephone, as an extension of human being."
Hidden ground - "The medium is hidden, the message is obvious."
"New media, old function."
"The sender just send, you lose your identity, you are nobody."
Thoughts I've have after the lecture:
Mcluhan makes me thinks about the "existence" of being. With technology, I no longer exist only as a tangible form. I'm a telephone, I'm a sms message, I'm an ID on MSN or Skype, I'm a video clip on the web. I'm myself, at the sametime i'm everybody and I'm nobody. Electric makes me reaches far far away in a very fast time, however is that really me?
Also, no matter why or how, I'm always and constantly receiving messages and information. This fact just makes me numb. Yes, now I know a lot of information whether or not it is related to me, however in the same time by surronded the huge "senders", I am now care less and less about the content.
