Andy Deck @ http://

On the way to HTTP Gallery I started to fear that I have been given the wrong URL.
Located at Unit A2, Arena Business Centre, 71 Ashfield Rd, N4 1NY.

For those of you that didn't get to see Andy Deck at the Dana Center, there is an exhibition of is work going on at HTTP Gallery.
The opening on the 9th was another great chance to meet the artist and have a friendly chat.

Open to all - Get into the Net-Art / Andy Deck

Is net art dead? That was the suggestion of one of the questions addressed to Andy. His answer was that if it was dead his death is a very slow one.

I regard the assumption that Nat Art is dead as funny at most. Probably suggested by people that are afraid to be left behind when seeing the shift of art presenting space from museums and galleries into the living rooms and offices.

Digital Reality Fly Through

“Digital reality fly through” Was indeed a fly through. The speakers rotated throw the tables, in order to engage in conversation. The short time established for these conversations proved it self to be too short. By the time the talk became interesting the speakers were asked to move to another table.

In the short time attempt to crate some kind of debate, about virtual reality environments and the attempt to make them as real as possible. Looking for ways to create characters as human as possible. Some questions did rise.

Wikipedia on your IPod

It is always amazing what kind of compression ratios you are able to obtain these days, so it is with great surprise to find that the humble iPod music player now plays videos but also doubles as your... MP3 player.

But hot on the heals of this device is the small but friendly IPod wikipedia, it has all the punch, but none of the size, so you can now access wikipedia on the move.

Encyclopodia is a free software project that brings you the Wikipedia, which is one of the largest encyclopedias on the world, on the Apple iPod MP3-Player. It has been successfully tested on a third-generation iPod and on an iPod mini, but it should also work on other iPod generations. Best of all it's free.

What's the point? (Transmediale continued...)

We came across this installation in Berlin which we noticed in a gallery window on Invaliden St. (sorry, no artists name). For a few moments it engaged our complete attention, perhaps because it was kind of unique. Although, I didn't like it. I felt that it kind of summed up my experience of Transmediale in general - a more intensive introduction to the world of pointless art!

Transmediale 2006: high's/low's

As someone who hasn't ever had any inclination in writing a diary, I am finding it hard to maintain momentum with blogging (hence the reason so long since my last post). I must admit I can't help thinking that regurgitating thoughts into the digital void is sometimes rather pointless, however, I am in the process of re-educating myself about this matter. It has also occurred to me that maybe through the sequential description of events, I can identify a more critical approach of discussing something.
